Traffic

As mentioned above, PartyPoker is currently #7 on PokerScout’s list over poker rooms and poker networks with the most cash game traffic. If lot’s of traffic is what you’re after, there are two other poker rooms that are more suitable: PokerStars and 888 Poker. When it comes to the other poker rooms and poker networks above PartyPoker on the list, the difference in cash game traffic is actually quite small and not really enough to warrant picking any one over the other. At the time of writing, Bodog has a 7 day cash game average of 1700 players and this is enough for a #3 spot on the list. Spot #4 is occupied by the poker network iPoker for which the 7 day cash game average is 1350 players, and spot #5 and spot #6 on the list are both held by poker rooms that aren’t open to players in the United Kingdom.

One interesting aspect of PartyPoker is the fact that you can find pretty loose players at mid-range Texas Hold’em. Virtually all poker rooms have their fair share of loose players at low-stakes Texas Hold’em, but PartyPoker has manged to attract loose players to the mid-stakes tables as well, e.g. $2/$4 No Limit and $5/$10 Fixed Limit. Also, there are quite a few loose Omaha players at PartyPoker – also a bit unusual when you compare it to the situation in most other poker rooms.

One possible explanation to these phenomena could be that Bwin.Party has made it very easy to click over to PartyPoker from anywhere else in the Party-family and start playing with a minimal amount of fuzz. This means that novice players are trickling over from PartyCasino and PartySports, sometimes with a big win from odds or casino games to risk.
